Staff profile: Chris Rowles

As B&A Group’s Logistics Manager, Chris Rowles has a number of responsibilities to ensure all skip and waste management processes are allocated and carried out successfully.

This includes operating skip delivery collections and dealing with legalities – making sure B&A Group’s drivers remain compliant by keeping their paperwork up-to-date, as well as enrolling them onto training programmes for any new regulations or legislation changes.

Chris began his career with B&A Group over three years ago, where he was hired as Logistics Manager. During his time with us, he has been instrumental in making sure our business runs like clockwork.

“The most important part of my job is making skip hires happen and collecting them from our clients’ sites”, he said. Touching on some of his challenges, he commented: “One of the most difficult parts of my role is hiring drivers because it’s a specialist job, that requires a lot of training.”

Reporting directly to B&A Group’s Senior Transport Manager Kevin Bogira, Chris is tasked with finding areas for improving our company’s services, while motivating the team to achieve its logistics targets.

Chris is responsible for managing a fleet of 14 lorries, which involves writing rotas and assigning drivers to different sites around Bristol each day.

He has an impressive 30 years of professional driving experience, particularly with heavy duty and light commercial vehicles. Chris is a National CPC holder and possesses an IOSH Managing Security qualification.

He is also an engineer by trade, having completed an aerospace apprenticeship at the beginning of his career.

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Chris said: “It’s great speaking and meeting different customers. While we are all very professional, I have a fun time working with our lorry drivers and clients.”

He added: “It’s also rewarding keeping up with B&A Group’s expectations so that we deliver an excellent service to our customers each and every time.”
